An extensive range of scrumptious breakfast options was on offer, and the personnel were cordial and attentive. Although the room was tidy and roomy, it did not meet the expectations of a five-star hotel. Additionally, the outdoor balcony was unclean and subpar. It would have been preferable if the balcony was maintained to a higher standard. However, I was thoroughly pleased with the location, which was superb.

Great location...good value for money...very good breakfast buffet. Food and restaurant choice is good and reasonably priced. Staff made the difference very friendly..helpful and professional.Pool , health club are great... a great selection of in room TV and news channels are also available .The hotel has alot of history going back to 1864 and their in house museum is well worth a visit. The daily 6pm taking down the flag ceremony with the piper in full kilt Uniform playiing his bagpipes is iconic and a must see.There Christmas decorations were incredible.

This is a lovely hotel and perfect for an end of trip rest and relax. I wouldn’t stay there at the beginning of my holiday as I wouldn’t be inclined to leave. They have nice food, a great pool and cool, big rooms with lots of charm. Reception checkin staff was wonderful as were the lovely gentlemen opening doors.

THE hotel in Colombo. Lovely building, spacioud rooms, located at the beach. A great place to enjoy the morning and the sunset. Friendly staff.

Galle Face Hotel has old world charm in abundance Everything about it reeks - class ! Lovely linen, shiny hardwood and brass fittings everywhere, legendary bar, salt water beach-kissed pool, fantastic dining in glorious fan-cooled setting Even a nightly fly folding ceremony ! Totally amazing - money well spent

My family and I had an excellent stay at the Galle Face Hotel. We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of our two week trip around Sri Lanka and it was the perfect place to relax and recharge ahead of a long flight home. The hotel is full of old school glamour and charm and the staff were incredible - always going above and beyond for their guests. One small watch out - beware the tuk tuk drivers that hang out outside the hotel. I always found I could get taken for half the price by turning the corner and hailing one from the main room. Also, always agree the price upfront and do not trust the meters!! THESE ARE A SCAM!!

We were looking for a traditional "grand hotel" for our final night in Sri Lanka and booked "heritage" rooms in the old building, each with a sea view, and one with large terrace. The rooms more than met our expectations, especially the room with the terrace, in terms of comfort, character and view. We found the staff considerate and helpful and the facilities excellent, making use of the saltwater pool, bars and the Veranda Restaurant for it's very good buffet dinner and breakfast. The whole experience was excellent, combining characterful historic spaces with modern standards of comfort and service.

Beautiful old building, so much history and so many traditions. With modern touches, and excellent food choices. Fantastic breakfast buffet. Clean and comfortable, well appointed room. Reception staff, welcoming and informative.
